Even Mexico Plays Us...

And no, I'm not talking about the World Cup. I'm talking about the Mexican President, Enrique Peña Nieto. Nieto, who took office on December 1, 2012, doesn't seem to be our friend. This is the second time in two years an American citizen crossed the Mexican border with guns they declared on the American side only to get arrested in Mexico for having them. (Do our Border Patrol officers not tell Americans they cannot take firearms into Mexico without risking arrest?)

President Nieto is partially responsible for the huge number of illegal aliens from South America coming to our Southern border. These people cross Mexico's Southern border, apparently with Nieto's (purchased?) approval, and make their way unimpeded to our Southern border, where our own President also lets them cross into the United States unimpeded. Thousands of Mexican nationals also cross into our country illegally every year.

If one of our citizens crossed into Mexico illegally he gets arrested and thrown into prison. We catch Mexican nationals in our country illegally and send them home and President Nieto chastises us for "breaking up a family." Nieto is not our friend. Nieto is a puppet of the drug cartels who actually run the country.

Several times in the last few months members of the Mexican army have crossed into the United States and confronted our Border Patrol. Last month a Mexican military helicopter flew into US air space and fired weapons at Border Patrol agents. To date nothing has been done about this nor has President Obama addressed it publicly. President Obama is destroying the sovereignty of the United States and President Nieto is helping him do it.

In other news, President Obama flew to Colorado yesterday to to hold a fund raiser for Democrat Senator Mark Udall. The President spoke (lied) to a group of invited guests saying "We have come farther and recovered faster than almost any other advanced country on Earth," commenting on the nation's lowered unemployment rate since the economic collapse he "inherited" in 2009. I'm not sure what country he has been living in but if our recovery has been faster than "almost any other advanced country on Earth" the world is worse off than I thought. He conveniently left out the fact that millions of people have stopped looking for work so they're no longer counted by the government as unemployed. The real unemployment numbers are about twice what the Obama administration says they are. But that kind of truth would detract from his "We're doing great" story.

And finally, in a note of good news, passengers on a Frontier Airlines flight from Washington DC to Denver were tired and cranky after bad weather extended their flight from three hours to nearly seven. The plane circled for a couple of hours over Nebraska before low fuel caused them to land in Cheyenne, Wyoming to wait out the bad weather in Denver. They sat on the tarmac for another hour when the voice of the pilot came on the speakers.

"Ladies and gentleman, Frontier Airlines is known for being one of the cheapest airlines in the US, but your captain is not cheap," he said. "I just ordered pizza for the entire plane."

The pilot had called a Dominoes Pizza restaurant in Cheyenne and ordered 30 pizzas - enough for all 160 passengers. He paid for it out of his own pocket. The pizzas were delivered to the plane and were passed out by the flight crew. The plane took off a short time later and landed in Denver after midnight local time.

During a time of stress that pilot put his passengers ahead of himself and made it a little less uncomfortable for all. As someone who has been in a plane on a tarmac for hours I say "Bravo, Sir. Well played."
