Last week the Obama administration made a deal with the Devil (Taliban) and swapped five detained Taliban terrorists, being held in Guantanamo Bay, for one U.S. soldier being held in Afghanistan whose very disappearance is strange at best. According to many of his fellow soldiers, Sgt. Bowe Bergdahl is not a hero who was captured by the Taliban but a traitor who dropped his weapons while on duty and walked off into the desert alone. Six soldiers died in the subsequent search for him and while the details of his disappearance and ultimate captivity remain sketchy, one thing is clear. The President overstepped his legal boundaries by doing a prisoner swap without notifying Congress, which is required by law.
The five Taliban commanders he released have been deemed "five of the most dangerous Taliban commanders in U.S. custody." The policy of the United States has always been that we do not negotiate with terrorists. Always, that is, until Barack Obama became President. Not only does he negotiate with terrorists, he makes bad deals with them. Five enemy terrorists for one American soldier? No offense to Sgt. Bergdahl if he truly was a victim and not a traitor - but what kind of leader who cares about his country releases five dangerous enemy terrorists for one of his own? And what message has the President sent to the Taliban? Basically it goes like this: "We are now committed to being blackmailed. If you continue to capture and hold our soldiers we will release up to five of yours for each one of ours."
When he was campaigning in 2008 then Senator Obama promise to close Gitmo. He hasn't been able to do that to date. Maybe this is his new plan? Negotiate them away as part of prisoner swaps until there are no more terrorists there....?
Nothing the man does surprises me anymore. It only makes me angry.
Sgt. Bergdahl's parents were invited to the White House for a Rose Garden press conference that accompanied the announcement of his release. Following his remarks, Bergdahl's father praised Allah saying “Bismillah ir-Rahman ir-Rahm,” In English, that means “In the name of Allah, most Gracious, most Compassionate.” He publicly vowed to work to get all of the Gitmo detainees released. When he was finished speaking the President hugged him. Wait... huh? This gets curiouser and curiouser.
“On behalf of the American people, I was honored to call his parents to express our joy that they can expect his safe return, mindful of their courage and sacrifice throughout this ordeal,” President Obama said in a statement. “Sergeant Bergdahl's recovery is a reminder of America's unwavering commitment to leave no man or woman in uniform behind on the battlefield.”
At what cost, Mr. President? As an eight-year military veteran I'm highly incensed at what you did. You broke one of the very rules that helps keep our soldiers safe. Navy SEALs don't leave their men behind. But they sacrifice themselves to prevent it. They don't sell out their country like you did. Your act is an act of treason - aiding and abetting the enemy. And it's time that the politicians in Washington set aside partisan differences and take action against a President who clearly does not have this nation's well being as his first priority. Harry Reid - I'm challenging you to do what's best for the country and not for yourself, for once.
And by the way - you didn't speak on behalf of all Americans because many of us feel you did the wrong thing in the wrong way in violation of our nation's policies and procedures. I wonder - did you make this bad decision because Bergdahl's parents are Muslim? One can't help but wonder...
I have posted this to every FB timeline I can. Could not agree with you more. I challenge everyone that reads this, not to just post it to your own timeline, but take the time to post on every friend's timeline. This POTUS's actions are an outrage.TIME TO UNITE.....TRUE AMERICANS!!!
