Global Warming Research Comes To Cold Stop...

T'was the eve before Christmas and all through the night
Everything in the Antarctic was white.
The ship, on a mission to prove ice was gone,
Instead is now unable to go on.
Stuck in the ice, unable to move -
Exactly the opposite of what it tried to prove.
The ice-breakers are unable to make the ice buckle
And I simply can't help but let out a chuckle...

On Christmas Eve, the Russian commissioned ship, the MV Akademik Shokalskiy, became stuck in ice that is at least 10 feet thick in the Antarctic Ocean. After several ice breaker ships were unable to reach them, all 52 passengers on the ship eventually had to be evacuated by helicopter to safety.

Scary story with a happy ending, right? Not so fast. The MV Akademik Shokalskiy is a science vessel that was on a mission in the Antarctic to prove that global warming had caused the ice in the Antarctic to disappear. They were there to document that disappearing ice to prove once and for all it was occurring. Instead, what they found was ice farther out from the South Pole than they expected and far thicker than they ever imagined.

Their global warming research ship got stuck in ice so thick even ice breakers couldn't break through it! Sorry, but I find that hilarious. I'm glad no one was injured and that they were all safely rescued but the entire premise is funny. They went on a mission to prove global warming and got stuck in unexpected ice. There are those who will say that the ice was caused by global warming - just as several years ago they tried to say colder winters are caused by global warming. To them I say...  "OK." I let them live in their world without interference.

This is at least as funny as the fact that every time Al Gore shows up at a global warming conference it snows. Oh, I'm sorry...  it's no longer "global warming". It's "climate change".  Why? Because global warming has been proved to be untrue. But there are still those who want to try to prove it. Like the guys on the MV Akademik Shokalskiy!
