Aiding The Enemy....?

The Syrian insurgents, those Al Qaeda and U.S. backed rebels that are attempting to oust President Bashar Assad, the other day accused a Christian priest and another Christian man of aiding and abetting the Assad military.  They tied them up and beheaded them with a small knife in front of a cheering crowd of their peers.  Afterward they displayed the heads by placing them back on their bodies.

President Obama last week began supplying “light arms,” including anti-tank missiles, to these same rebels, who are known to be supported by Al Qaeda as well.  So in one country we’re fighting against Al Qaeda and its allies and in another country we’re not only assisting them but arming them as well.  And those we’re giving aid to are beheading Christians.  Anyone want to take a guess on the true reason they were beheaded?

One would think that if we could not support rebels in a Middle Eastern conflict without giving arms to Al Qaeda that we’d simply stay out of it.  I mean – what sense does it make for us to give arms to Al Qaeda?  Does the Obama administration really believe these arms will be used exclusively to fight Assad?  Do they have tracking mechanisms in them that will alert the US if the arms suddenly begin killing our troops in Afghanistan?  Are we really fighting terrorism by arming the very terrorist organization we’re fighting against?

In the meantime in Egypt, more people than voted for President Mohamed Morsi are calling for his resignation.  Egyptian citizens want him and the Muslim Brotherhood government out of power in Egypt.  President Obama is currently backing Morsi and the Muslim Brotherhood because “He was elected by democratic process.”  And Obama is now promising aid, in the form of tear gas canisters and riot control gear, to help Morsi put down the revolt.

It seems President Obama is all for supporting the ousting of a President that he himself didn’t help elect.  But since Obama supported the Muslim Brotherhood from the beginning in Egypt he has to remain loyal to them regardless of the will of the people or the well-being of the country.  When the Egyptian people (and the Muslim Brotherhood) wanted Mubarik out Obama was all for it.  But today he’s all about keeping the Muslim Brotherhood in power, regardless of the way they’re destroying Egypt’s constitution.

President Obama often has secret White House meetings with known supporters of terrorist organizations.  Just last week it was reported that Obama met with Ghazi Hamad, who is Hamas’s Deputy Foreign Minister.  I guess it’s true that Obama will stand with the Muslims.  I can’t help but wonder if he’ll do so at our expense?
